5 Tips For A Great Golf Holiday

If you are a golfer, there is nothing nicer than a vacation in an exotic locale, where you can try out some new courses and take in the sights. You have many options because golf is growing around the world.
1. Hotels and Resorts
Trips to a golf resort will build your entire vacation on the game and teaching you tips and ways to improve your golfing. If your spouse or partner plays too, this is ideal, but if they don't, you need to make sure there are facilities in the resort for him or her to have fun at too. If you aren't travelling with a golfer, you should make sure your companion has stuff to do.
2. Arranging to Travel
Remember that you will be taking your golf clubs with you. The additional weight may incur some charges, but you will need to pack them carefully. Some resorts will hire out golf clubs, which may be cheaper.
3. Dress Code
Just because you are on holiday does not mean that the local courses will relax their dress code. Assume the rules are the same as your home course. You can bring more clothes with you if you foresee them being more lenient. Find out the dress code for dinner as well.
4. Golf Course
If you decide to not stay at a golf resort, you need to scope out areas you'd like to play around there. Not all courses are open to the public, and you may need to make special arrangements to play there. If you are travelling a long way to play on a specific course, make sure the course is open to visitors, and that they are not holding a five day tournament the week you are there!
5. Pack Carefully
Pack items like sunscreen, balls, tees, and shoes. It may seem easy to replace these at your destination, but the conversion rate and local prices may surprise you. You will need to be prepared, and you'll play better with your own stuff. Pack according to the weather of where you are going. The way you'd pack for going to South America will be different from how you'd pack for Scotland.
If you plan your holiday well, you can have a beautiful golf trip to a new surrounding. You'll get to see new sights as well as play golf in a wonderful new surrounding. What could be better than that?
