Ask The Doctors How To Golf
Posted by Wendell John-Baptiste under: Golf .
Did you say you want to learn how to golf? You should first know that this is an addicting game. Many have succumbed to the addiction once they learn how to play and have to golf on a regular basis.
In fact in Scotland the King, in the fifteenth century had to ban the game because his archers were spending more time on the course than on their military duties. But no one can blame you if you want to golf day after day, once you learn how to play the game. This is a game like no other. Where else can you hit a little white ball and watch it soar for hundreds of yards?
The great part about golf is that it is played in the healthy outdoors. You get to walk and talk on a field of green with friends and enjoy some sunshine in your life. You might play with your friends, but when it comes down to it, you are playing against yourself.
The game, like no other, requires that you improve yourself each time out. You have to go out again and again because you are called to do better than your last outing.
If you want to be serious golfer, you need to realize that this is a demanding game. You have to master club selection. You have to know which golf club to use for each different type of shot. You have to learn how to judge the wind, how your shot will be affected by the air turbulent.
You need to be in good physical condition to play this game seriously. Many do not realize the energy required to play 18 holes. You have to be able to swing your club over and over and the white ball and cause it to hit a hole hundreds of yards away. Do not believe anyone who says this is not a physically demanding game.
Not only do you have to be strong physically, but you have to be strong mentally. You have to block all thoughts out when you approach your shot. Your only focus must be on the your swing, your club, the ball that you will send flying through the air.
At the end of the golf day, you can spend time with your fellow golfers and talk about all the shots that went awry. You can talk about how next time you will make better drives, or sink more puts, or choose the right clubs for your shots. This is all part of the bonding experience that golf makes possible.
You will go home and remember all the great shots you made and look forward to the next time you will be out on the course; it is no wonder why the game can become addicting.
