Getting Ready for the Big Swing

Posted by Lucky Murwanthi under: Golf .

A huge part of golf is swinging, and before you make a Perfect Golf Swing, it is important to devise a routine which will help you with your focus. There are quite a few golfers out there, and they all have a different way of doing their swing.

Below you will find a routine that you can use before each and every shot. It will help you out quite a bit in your own game, and soon enough you will be swinging like a pro.

Step 1: Do a practice swing, and only do one. There are many beginners out there that take too make practice swings. This can really destroy your game, because an excess of practice swings can destroy a person's confidence.

With that in mind, take ONE practice swing. Try not to think about what is going on around you , and limber yourself out. Above all, avoid becoming stressed out.

Step 2: Visualize the outcome of the shot you wish to see. Once you have loosened up with a practice swing, take a few steps back and mentally visualize the clubhead hitting the ball in perfect harmony with your desired aim.

The next thing that you need to do is picture that ball flying. Picture it taking flight and getting lost in that blue expanse. Then think about it as it lands right where you wanted it to. Think of this as the real shot, even though it is a few seconds before you actually take the shot.

Step 3: Now work out your aim. Set it up so that the ball will go to the right spot when you hit it. In order to do this you will need to properly align yourself with your clubhead, taking into account the turf and the total distance.

Once you are ready, select a second target that is a few feet in front of you, one that is in the direct line of fire. This second target makes it easier to hit the ball towards your destination.

Step 4: Make your shot. The practice swing is over, your aim is true. So long as you keep your arms limber and you stay focused, you should be able to make that shot with a degree of confidence. Know that when you swing and hit, your ball will make it all the way there without any interruption.
