Avid golfers, by design, are an interesting group of folks. When they are playing, they talk about golf. When they are done playing, the still discuss the day and other golf related items. When at work, the primary topic of the day, is, you guessed it, golf. So, when these people intentionally move to a community that has a golf course, they will usually purchase a cart. What makes each cart have a different personality, are the golf cart accessories that they decide to add onto their new found toy.
So, the purchase of a golf cart takes as much preparation as buying a new car. You can buy one that is stock. It will have the regular stuff. A place to carry your bag. Some small places to put stuff and usually a windshield. Or, you can customize your own and make it as elaborate as your bank account will allow. Over the past 20 years, this industry has become a multi-billion dollar barrage! Golfers want stuff and they will whatever it takes to get them.
That being said, let us discuss why you are buying one. Golf is all about convenience and comfort. You live at the club because the trip to the course is shorter. You are buying a golf cart to save you some money at the club, but mostly because it allows you to personalize your new toy. The outside appearance will offer you a multitude of options. You have a variety of color combinations, wheel choices, headlights and more, that actually will have nothing to do with your game. On the other hand, the inside options can and will help you play with more comfort.
Most all carts will come with a cover. These provide protection from the elements and zippered doors for easy entry and exit. If you wish to push the envelope a little, you can buy a cart with actual doors! Remember, it is all about comfort and cost.
