Golf Resorts of the US

The United States is one of the most popular golfing countries in the world. There are many popular golf resorts in the US which is why many outsiders flock to the United States each and every year to play golf. The courses in the United States have history. Many of the old time pros have played on these courses. Many historic tournaments and plays were held on these courses which make them even more popular.
The Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina has a history dating back to 1895. Many people refer to the Pinehurst Resort as the unofficial home of golf in the United States. This North Carolina golf resort consists of a total of eight different golf courses including the second course which is a masterpiece created by Donald Ross. Many players end up playing through this dramatic course at least twice during their stay.
Containing a total of eight different golf courses, the Pinehurst Resort spans an area of over two thousand acres. This resort is extremely well known for having more courses that any other resort in America. The courses range from very challenging to very easy. There are classic style courses like course number one and three. Course number one, which is extremely short, was opened in 1898. Although it is only a seventy par course, a few mistakes can force a long day.
The Kiawah Island Golf Resort is another extremely popular United States golf resort. This resort is located close to Charleston, South Carolina. The resort has several extremely challenging golf courses and excellent hotel and vacation packages. The Kiawah Island Golf Resort has a total of five golf courses. These courses were designed by legends of the sport like Jack Nicklaus. The 2007 PGA Championship and the 1997 World Cups were held at this resort.
The 2012 PGA Championships will be held at the Ocean Golf Course which is part of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Golf Digest ranked this golf course, which was designed by Pete Dye, as the best golf course in South Carolina. The course is extremely difficult because of the challenges of the easterly and westerly winds. The Ocean Golf Course ranks within the top twenty five best golf courses in America.
Among all of the golf resorts in the United States, the Kapalua Resort ranks as one of the best. When playing at the resort, you will also receive an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean. There is a very classic Ritz-Carlton on the resort. The world famous Plantation Course is part of the Kapalua Resort. The Kapalua Resort sets on a former Maui pineapple plantation in Lahaina, Hawaii. This resort contains two golf courses.
The Bay Course which is a world famous golf course is part of the Kapalua Resort. The Bay Course is a seventy two par course which was designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane. The course spans an area of six thousand six hundred yards. The PGA Tour SBS Championship is held at the Plantation Course which is also part of the Kapalua Resort. This seventy three par course covers an area of seven thousand four hundred and eleven yards.
