In fact, the speed of your club face when it hits the ball has a direct bearing on the momentum it imparts to the ball.

The reason golfers try to swing faster is simple; people equate speed with power and distance. The faster you swing the more power you strike the ball with, and the farther it will go. Nevertheless, the only time that speed matters is at the moment of impact, so you do not need to swing your fastest for the entire swing.

It is just like hitting at a nail with a hammer. You can afford to do your backswing and downswing in slow motion, because the only time you need to be at full speed is exactly at the moment of impact with the ball. Some golfers use audibles like counting to keep track. Start counting at 1 for the backswing, 2 for the beginning of downswing and 3 for the moment of contact.

The trick is to do this efficiently while at the same time making sure your hands are still properly aligned. The harder you try to swing, the chances of you tossing something off with regards to your hands, weight shift, head level and aim will be higher.

A pro golfer in real life swings a club effortlessly which is one way of saying that the golfer has good tempo. They are able to swing smoothly, remain in control, speed up their swing right before the moments of impact to get the highest speed possible and still do not over-swing.

Because of the mechanics of this method, you will probably have to build up your core muscle strength. Thus, you must exercise more to enhance your flexibility. There are 22 sorts of muscles involved in the forward golf swing. If you take care these muscles properly it will definitely help you to increase your club head speed and you will be able to control your shot better. The best and quickest ways to improve your golf swing speed and power are through golf weight and training exercises.

But if you are just starting to improve your golf swing speed, overlook all the mechanics that go into a swing. Just head to a driving range, buy a large bucket and don't be concerned about where the ball ends. Just practice taking smooth, in control swings. Only after you have learned this motion can you start on the finer edges of the mechanics of your swing.
