Improve Your Golf Game by Fine Tuning Your Golf Swing Today

Posted by Paul Iconia under: Golf .

Golf is one of those games that can either be addicting or drive you mad. It can either shorten your lifespan or propel you into a state of bliss. Golf takes a bit of patience, and together with a good swing, goes a long way. While the game seems somewhat elementary enough since all you have to do is drive a ball really hard in the direction of a hole. Countless people have been overcome by sheer frustration because of it. Fortunately it isn't all that bad.

Keep it Simple... Practice, Practice, Practice

Golf is a game staked on doing the same things over and over well. Hitting the golf ball consistently the same way is important to scoring well. Issues related to drive distance, hooking, slicing, and other golf ills are attributed to the lack of consistency. Mastering how to swing a golf club should be easy enough, just as long as you learn the proper technique upfront.

Each golfer develops their own distinctive style when swinging a golf club, however all golfers use the same set of rudimentary rules that make up their swing. The golfer's spine acts as a rotating axis while the golfer keeps a proper grip on the golf club accelerating through the impact of the ball to full follow through.

Shedding Wasted Motion

Focusing your swing on hitting the golf ball and leaving out extra unnecessary movements is what you should concentrate on. Just think of it as the shedding of wasted motion. Focusing your energy on hitting the golf ball just so and leaving out added movements that can cause hooking, slicing or tipping the ball is the goal.

Focus on the basics and assimilate only those movements necessary to strike the ball dead center. Concentrating on the basics should result in lowering your handicap in no time. With additional practice, you'll be hitting par golf every time. However, this will only happen if you practice.

Getting Formal Instruction

Learning the proper way to swing a golf club can be achieved by taking formal group or individual lessons from a qualified instructor. Most classes offered by golf courses and ranges provide equipment and trained instructors that can help you achieve the proper golf swing provided you supply the determination, discipline and practice to do it.

Enrolling in lessons generally costs money, however its helpful to note that golfing organizations sometimes provide incentives for new golfers to pick up the sport and may provide cheap package deals to attract people to try it. In addition, group lessons are cheaper than one-on-one lessons if you're concerned about the initial cost.

Golfing Books and the Internet

Some people seek golf swing training by reading golf books or articles they find in magazines and the internet. I have heard of people who successfully applied swing tips they've picked up in books successfully on the golf course. Still others that are more visual learners really don't make much headway utilizing this method.

Be wary of random free articles you find on the internet since you get what you pay for and much of it can be quite conflicting. Your primary job is to determine which golf aids are best for you, ones that help you establish and improve your golf swing.

Golf can be a great sport for you, one that is fun, relaxing and challenging provided you can get beyond issues created by an improperly tuned golf swing.
