Improving Your Golf Made Easy
Posted by Chris Pierce under: Golf .
As a comprehensive coaching manual, this book by Jack Moorehouse, covers a whole range of golfers who need some help and direction in lowering their golf score and handicap.
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to approach one's golf game in a more structured and thorough manner in order to improve all aspects of one's game.
If the reader wanted a more easy to read or practical manual on how to deal with the physical and mental challenge of playing great golf, then they will find it with this great guide full of practical golf tips and ideas.
If you had a check list of all the important aspects of your golf game that you wanted to work on and improve then this book is likely to cover all those points. Written in a realistic manner to manage your expectations while at the same time delivering important instruction on the major elements of your set-up, your grip, your stance and your posture, will get you on the right track quickly.
With many practical and easy to read golf tips and instructions, "How to Break 80 and Shoot Like the Pro's" makes learning and executing the improvements in your golf swing and it's associated timing and rhythm, much easier and ultimately more effective.
There are many photo shots contained throughout the book, showing the various stages of posture, grip and the swing, which again, add to the ease with which one can relate to the point being made.
I found the book was very thorough and it allowed me to take my time and work through all the areas I need to, in a very methodical way. It should also be pointed out that having the book in one's possession means it is a great ongoing reference point as you develop your game.
Before you move on to the next section of the program, ensure that you are happy with the progress you have made to that point.
A common mistake with wanting to improve your golf is often trying to do too much, too soon. Slow down, master the basics and get your confidence to a level that will allow you to move to the next stage in a timely manner. Golf is a confidence game and sometimes it doesn't take much to shake that confidence, such as trying to move too quickly. Moving too quickly can sometimes lead to learning more slowly.
As you would expect this book really does cover all bases from The Drive, through approach shots, pitching, chipping and putting and the whole emotional/mental approach.
Video can be a useful tool in learning and whilst not part of the online program, they are part of a secondary package available.
I feel the book is suited to serious golfers who are determined to work on their game and get that handicap lower and are willing to work at it, because it definitely does work for those willing to apply the effort.
This golf book is extremely good value and just one tip put to good use, will pay for the book, when you consider the price is only about the cost of one golf lesson and you have the book to keep, to refer back to, at any stage.
In summary, the trick is to be a coach to yourself and not a critic, as it is a game of confidence and composure. This book gives you all the necessary golf tips and tricks, to be able to coach yourself beyond just the technical aspects of the game and equally allows you to build confidence.
Just as importantly it reminds you to enjoy "The Great Game" first and foremost.
