How To Purchase Ladies Left-Handed Golf Clubs – A Buying Guide

Left handedness is not very common unless you're part of my family where if you're right handed, you're in the minority. My husband, his mother, his two sisters and my son are all left handed. So, maybe they're taking over I don't know. What I do know is that special consideration should be given when selecting golf clubs for someone who is left handed.
Many lefties attempt to play golf right handed when they first start playing - probably because their friends or family members have hand-me-down clubs to offer them that are for righties. While that's not wrong, obviously if a beginner is starting off "on the wrong foot" so to speak, it may make things a lot more difficult to correct down the road once the golfer has come to the point of wanting to perfect their swing and so on.
Additionally, a woman's golf set is made differently than a man's set. For starters, they are lighter than a man's so that she can more easily swing them and get the full range of motion. Secondly, the shafts are often shorter than with a man's set.
Lefties sometimes face frustrations that righties take for granted because so many products are designed for right handed people (can openers are a good example). However, most golf suppliers have created left handed versions of their clubs to suit both beginner and professional golfers alike.
It's worth taking the time to explore all the options out there but if you're buying a beginner set, you can find a great set for less than $150. Then, once you've begun to take the game more seriously, you can upgrade to a more expensive set. In addition, many of the ladies golf accessories come in colors that are more appealing to women.
