Quinta De Cima: The Challenging Course In Algarve Courses

Posted by Paul Stubbs under: Golf .

Created by William Roquemore Jr. , Quinta de Cima is a spectacular 18-hole golf course located within the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. There are views of the sea and mountains from anywhere across the course. Many of the holes are dog-legs. Greens are protected by bunkers and lakes specifically the last three finishing holes. Another stream crosses holes 4, 5, 6 and 13. There'll be no real estate construction on the Quinta de Cima course.

This sister-course of Quinta de Ria is of a champ nature that will offer a pleasurable challenge for most enthusiasts. Set in rolling-land dotted with almond trees it provides open fairways, well placed bunkers and enough water to attract the odd misdirected golf ball. The first 2-holes show the true nature on the course emphasizing the need for good club selection coupled with accuracy. Players are making their comments about the tricky Par 5 sixteenth hole and the memorable eighteenth.

A stream with dams and stable water crosses holes 4, 5, 6 and 13. The Golf Course is surrounded to the north with the national road and spreads towards the South where its limits are municipal roads that ends up in Quinta de Ria.

The greens have been seeded with Bent Crenshaw. Tees and fairways are covered with Zoysia among the Driving Ranges which consists of generous dimensions and were built in the South/North direction, when hitting from the northern tees, it's possible to appreciate the breathtaking view from the mountains along with the Ocean. Though from any part of the course both of the sea and also the Algarve mountains certainly were a delight to anyone's eyes.

In the alternative Driving Range developed for practice with irons you will find the Robinson Golf Academy. It comprises of 3 greens and 6 tees for the teaching of the various kinds of game with irons namely how to get away from a bunker to some green 120 meter distance.
