Tips for Golfers on How to Increase Your Strength and Flexibility
Posted by Mick Euan Tait under: Golf .
When you have led a generally inactive lifestyle and you decide to start playing golf, you may realize that it is not that easy to just begin playing'-holes. Though, if you have been playing golf for some time you are probably in much better physical shape, but your golf game will be greatly determined by your level of physical fitness. Those that are in great physical shape, in terms of flexibility, strength and endurance, you will be able to play a much better game than those who are in a worse physical shape.
Flexibility and Your Muscle Mass
At the same time that you work on your strength training you will have to work on your flexibility in order to have the best overall physical condition feasible to play better golf. You need to build lean muscle, rather than bulky muscle. The primary difference is the level of flexibility that the muscles can provide. Bulky muscles are apt to be stronger than lean muscles, but they are not as flexible. This will greatly limit your ability to twist properly while you are swinging the club.
Lean Muscles are More Suited to Golf
The majority of people who are working on building muscle strength are liable to build too much muscle mass. This is typically because they are lifting weights that are too heavy. To build lean muscles you have to do more repetitions of lighter weights. This will improve your muscle strength, while building the slender and lean muscles that are more useful for your golf game overall.
Before Playing Golf You Need to Warm Up
Flexibility is important so you need to work on your level of suppleness. This involves performing; stretching before playing golf will ensure that you are ready to swing your golf club on the first tee without the risk of a pulled muscle. If you find that you are sore after a game it was probably because you didn't stretch. Five minutes of stretching before and after a round of golf will ensure that you are able to play golf without any trouble or damage.
Walk Instead of Riding a Golf Cart
If you are a seasoned golfer but have become accustomed to riding around the course on a golf cart, then you should think about walking the course. For the first time that you walk the golf course, you might want to begin by walking a number of holes and alternate some holes by getting in the golf cart (if you have some golf buddies that can take turns driving the cart for you.) Steadily augment the number of holes that you walk each round until you can manage to walk easily the full golf course without exertion.
All it takes to improve your golf game a lot is a well thought out and implemented golf exercise schedule. If you want to take your game to a higher level, you will have to increase your physical fitness levels and your flexibility. You will be amazed at the benefits that it provides to your healthiness as well as your overall golf swing.
If you are fit for golf that is good but also you need a reliable swing. That is easily accomplished with The Simple Swing invented by a talented Golf Swing Guru that I started using after back surgery.
