Using Zen Philosophy On How To Improve Golf Swing

On the golf course when you are playing with another golfer, the difference between winning and losing is not the kind of equipment you have or the experience of your caddy. It all depends in reality on your swing. Between you and the other guy, how far apart your swings are in terms of perfection will decide which one of you will be buying drinks for the other after the game. Definitely if you have been buying too many drinks because of your many losses, then you will want to know how to improve golf swing.
Some golfers may have read a book called Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance published in the 1970s and therefore if it works for motorcycles why can it not also work for golf? We can write another book that can be titled Zen and the Personalized Swing if we wanted to.
It is quite difficult to get a perfect swing like the past greats of Woosnam, the Welshman who can wallop balls into the next century that lines his next shots for birdies and eagles, or someone like Greg Norman with his legendary accuracy. Each and every one of us have different physiques, heights, weights, and body mass.
Ergonomics definitely plays a part. And those with more cash to burn can buy the needed custom made golf clubs that are specifically designed for your own type of swing. Those who are being prepared for professional competition also have an advantage in their coaching and training. For those without such advantages, we can do three things to improve our swing. The first thing we can do of course is to practice a lot. This will put our body in the rhythm or the zone so to speak. We are always in the need to improve our grip, stance and hip movement to have a greater flow in our swing. We need to control our head also and keep our eyes on the ball so as to avoid digging holes in the ground. We need to practice and practice more so that we get a swing that does not bring us embarrassment. The second thing we can do is the Zen part. In this part of our training our swing arm, we practice proper breathing, proper attitude and most importantly. For the game of golf is both a mental and a physical sport.
In visioning, one basically imagines how the next shot will turn out, before it is actually taken. Imagine how the club hits the ball on the tee; how the ball flies through the air and finally land at the spot that you really want it to be in. Relax as you do this taking deep breaths and loosening your muscles to relax. Then go ahead and take the shot.
With this technique alongside your regular physical practice of improving your swing, you will lessen the time in achieving the golf swing that you always wanted, a swing made especially for you.
