Why You Need To Carry A Golf Divot Repair Tool

Serious golfers follow the rules of golf, and the rules regarding etiquette are especially followed closely. Golfers take a pretty large percentage of their shots on or around the green, so the result of those shots can be the difference between a good golfer and an average golfer. If the quality of the green is poor due to golfers not repairing their ball marks, the result will be putts going off line and the golfer's score going up.
Each golfer who plays the game should take the rules of golf etiquette seriously. A golf divot tool should be in the pocket of every golfer on every course. All golf courses should have their starters checking all golfers to be sure they have this very simple piece of equipment. Golf is an expensive sport, and golf divot tools are very cheap items. There is not reason any golfer should be playing this game without this simple and affordable piece of golf equipment.
All golf course sell divot tools ranging from simple plastic tools that cost just a dollar or two, to more elaborate and decorative divot tools that might cost as much as twenty five dollars. When a golfer arrives at each green, the first thing he should do is repair his ball mark. This process takes less than 10 seconds, and if every golfer did this simple task the game of golf would become much more enjoyable for all golfers. If every golfer followed this simple rule, all we would have to worry about is the speed and direction of our putt instead of watching it go off course due to hitting ball marks along it's path.
Let's all do one more thing. Not only repair your ball mark, but go one step further and repair one more. If every golfer did this on every green, all golf greens would be in perfect condition. If we all policed our fellow golfers and educated them when we see them not following these etiquette rules, the game would be much better off. And, the next time that other golfer repairs his ball mark, maybe he will even repair one more. When that happens, our game just got more fun and enjoyable.
The issue of having a golf divot tool is very important to all golfers. So important that all golfers should consider not only carrying a divot tool, but giving them to your fellow golfers. Divot tools are very inexpensive. Buy several and give them out at your course. Begin a trend for smoother greens, one green at a time.
